Statue 'Searching for Utopia'
The bronze statue "Searching for Utopia", better known as the turtle of Jan Fabre was placed in Nieuwpoort in 2003 on the occasion of the first 3-yearly edition for modern art by the sea ‘Beaufort’. The statue was so popular amongst both tourists and inhabitants that the city council bought it.
