Koolhofpit
This deep-water pit of 10 ha came into being from the sand digging for the construction of the A18 (Jabbeke-Veurne-Calais). Meanwhile the Koolhofpit became a stopping place for human beings and animals. On the one hand water birds and fishes, on the other hand fishermen, hikers and friends of nature; they all feel at home. As part of the country design, the Koolhofpit has been provided with observation huts, spawning grounds, a hiking path and planting. For angling friends an angling platform and a parking lot were constructed. Nearby you will find some war remains from the First World War.
