Festival of witches

Nieuwpoort is a city of witches. Between 1602 and 1652 no less than 17 witches, men and women alike, have been burned.
Nieuwpoort reminded this history with the historic evocation of the life of Jeanne Panne - the witch of Flanders - on Sunday 11th of July 2010. For this occasion, the whole city returned into the 17th. Century.
